Sales - The Toughest Position in the World to Fill

In March 2007, Manpower Inc. released the results of a survey of nearly 37,000 employers in 27 countries and territories.  This survey showed that the Sales Representative is the most sought after and most difficult position to fill.

According to a recent CPSA marketing piece, over one half of salespeople may not be suited for sales and another 25% may be selling the wrong product!

In an effort to clear away the clutter and provide you with the ‘real goods’ your Ottawa-Outaouais chapter has put together a blue ribbon panel of industry experts to share their insights.

Some of the questions to be addressed include:

  • Is there truly a shortage of sales talent?
  • Are some sales reps selling the wrong products?
  • What is causing the high degree of turnover in the profession?

Join us as we discuss the current state of the profession of selling.

Our industry experts include:

William Garbarino, Algonquin College School of Business

As the largest business school in Eastern Ontario, Algonquin has the reputation of providing relevant, cutting-edge curricula that meets 'real-world' industry needs. Its professors bring experience and knowledge from the field that creates an inspiring atmosphere in which to learn.

Brian Jeffrey, Salesforce Assessments Ltd.

Salesforce Assessments Ltd, helps sales managers avoid costly hiring mistakes by providing specialized sales assessments and other tools to better match the salesperson to the job.

Margo Crawford, Meriton Networks

Meriton Networks offers a smart, practical architecture for the NGN optical transport network. Combining intelligent WDM with PBT Ethernet tunnels, network operators can create a converged optical-Ethernet transport network that delivers unparalleled flexibility, efficiency and cost savings.

CPSA Ottawa-Outaouais supports the Ottawa Food Bank

Since this is the last chapter event of the year before the holiday season, the chapter council is asking attendees to help support those who are less fortunate at this time of the year.  We will be collecting non-perishable food stuffs for the Ottawa Food Bank during our meeting.

If you wish to support this worthy cause, please bring your items to the meeting where we will have collection containers available.

Thank you for your support.
